We had an amazing visit to the National Bison Range in Montana the summer of 2014. We saw bison, pronghorn antelope, elk, mule deer, and even a black bear with her two cubs. We saw so much because we went so early in the morning when the animals were out and feeding.

My family visited the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in August of 2014. Many of my students are familiar with this lab because of our involvement with Cornell’s Great Backyard Bird Count each February. It was exciting to finally get to visit the lab and explore the grounds on a beautiful August morning.

This June 2015, we visited Alaska and spent a lot of time touring and hiking in the areas around Anchorage. One of the highlights was being flown to Knik Glacier. We got to spend the day out on the ice. We also enjoyed seeing the animals at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and Potter Marsh.
